Economic & Community
DEVELOPMENT
The EAPDD team works with our elected officials to develop strategic priorities and identify opportunities to meet community needs. To this end, we manage and administer grants made
possible by our partner agencies such as the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, Delta Regional Authority, the U.S. Economic Development Administration, and more.
The Arkansas Community & Economic Development Program (ACEDP), made available through the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, is a competitive grant program funded
through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Community Development Block Grant Program. Arkansas' twelve largest cities, known as "entitlement cities" are appropriated their
own CDBG funds, leaving the remaining portion of Arkansas' allocation to be distributed through the ACEDP program. These funds are available for communities to meet the following
objectives:
-
Benefit Low to Moderate Income (LMI) population
-
Eliminate Conditions of Slum or Blight
-
Meet an Urgent Community Need

The ACEDP typically offers two grant cycles per year, one in the spring and one in the fall.
Other funding opportunities exist each year through congressional appropriation to the Delta Regional Authority. These grants are available on a competitive basis through programs such as the
State's Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP) and the Community Infrastructure Fund (CIF). Funds can be used for investments in basic public infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, business development with an emphasis on entrepreneurship, or workforce development.
